The latest Loud Mouth podcast comes from one of Dublin's most popular purveyors of the highest quality electro, techno, disco and house. Kenny Hanlon runs the excellent Apartment Records, a vinyl only label based in Dublin since 2011 that is now in its 5th release, and is on the up and up. The latest release, Bande Apartment's edit-tastic 'Rita, Kate And You Too' has been getting a lot of attention in particular, and has already destroyed plenty a dancefloor in the city with it's highly infectious disco hooks and vocals.

This mix contains a healthy dose of the spine-tingling electro and Chicago house that Kenny is well known for. His knowledge and respect for the roots of this music knows few bounds, and he never fails to deliver the goods.

Kenny is also a resident with Dublin crew Gary's Gang, bringing you the best in house, techno, disco and electro, for free, on the first Friday of every month in Sweeney's basement, and he is a writer for the excellent infinite state machine blog.

Loud Mouth Compilation Volume 5

Here it is, the Loud Mouth Compilation Volume 5. It’s been a while in the making, but it’s been well worth the wait. This time around we have fifteen great tracks from our diverse roster of highly talented producers, ranging through ambient electronic, hip hop, experimental, up-tempo dance-floor material and some odd bits and bobs, as usual. We have most of our regular crew back with their usual quality work – Luke B, Gemsmiff, I.T.I.S. and Blake, Conall, Leigh, Ciaran, KiKi, Dark Passenger, Archetype, Rusty Child, as well as newcomer Calzone Kelly who is making plenty of waves around Dublin this weather with his tight melodic hip hop instrumentals. We have a very welcome return from Benny Smiles, another man who’s been getting plenty of well deserved attention the past while.

Hopefully as many people as possible take the time to listen through the compilation and get as much enjoyment out of it as we do. We know how much stuff is out there online and how the brain can reach saturation point in no time looking through blogs, facebook etc..., but don’t let this get forgotten about in your downloads folder like most of that other free stuff you download! We always put a lot of effort into these releases and try to arrange the tracks in an order that makes for a great listening experience the whole way through, and brings you on a musical journey – a proper album. We feel this has worked really well on all the compilations so far, and this one is no exception. Quite an achievement, if we may say so ourselves, considering there are no directions given to our artists other than to make a track in their own style and get it to us on time. Even with such a wide range of artists and styles, it always just seems to fall into place, and it’s always a pleasant surprise to listen to all the tracks together, making up something that’s equal to and more than the sum of its parts.

We’d like to send out big thanks and respect to all of our artists and contributors for delivering the goods yet again and doing us all proud, as well as all of our friends and supporters who have checked out the music, helped out, or been involved in any way. Please continue listening, checking our site, coming to our gigs and generally spreading the good word about Loud Mouth.

This will be the last compilation of its kind we will be doing for quite a while, but we have some other very interesting and exciting projects in the pipeline that you’ll be hearing about throughout 2013. Keep listening, keep watching, and keep it real!

Meles Meles Records presents Mangetout,  It It Wer EP. Both ambient and Melancholy, this EP describes surroundings and locations, from the Irish countryside speeding past on a train to the bustling streets of New York.

Loud Mouth Compilation Volume 5 Launch Party

On February 23rd the Loud Mouth Collective will be having a launch party for the LM Compilation Volume 5, in the Bernard Shaw. The night will feature DJ sets from Cian, Blake and Sam K, we will also have a live set from one of the newest artists to join the roster, Calzone Kelly. To top it all off live illustrations will take place in the smoking yard from the very talented Chris Donnelly.

Quivion Remixes

Quivion also recently featured on Zeitreise Remixed. The EP features seven remixes. Some of them have been handpicked from a proper collection of remix submissions during a contest that was open for a month and for everyone. Some have been contributed due to a personal invitation. Zeitreise Remixed is the second self-released Field Rotation remix EP.  It's available as a Free Download.


The original track "Zeitreise" was featured in the documentary score of "Neun Monate Winter" (Nine Months Winter) and has been composed back in 2009 when Field Rotation was more focused on downtempo ambient music.
